First Communion
On May 13, 2017, Fathers Greg and Valcy visited a small rural community about 40 miles from the city of Monte Alegre. During the visit, the two Franciscans priests celebrated Mass and 10 children received their First Communion. It was a joyous time for the community which not only celebrated this moment so important in the lives of the children, but also because it was the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, the patron saint of the community. Afterwards, the joy and happiness continued as all were invited to participate in a community lunch as a sign of friendship and solidarity.
